Sod only roots as well as the soil under it. We check the subgrade, place and amend topsoil, and finish grade before the first roll goes down, so the lawn knits in and drains instead of settling or browning out. Bid it together with 32 91 13 Soil Preparation or as sod only over your prepared grade.
